Campsite Middellands

Summer - 2017

A group expo outside, lasting 3 days.

A tree house built from locally sourced, reclaimed materials. Created to make a space apart from our daily foot traffic, speed and intensity of modern life. A space made for communication, between anyone - openness, honest interaction away from the maddening crowd. (The structure still stands)

- Theoretically/ ideally this structure would have had a live feed, slow-motion - camera in the space/platform . with a screen displaying (in silence) the (live, but slow) body language of the visitors to the platform. This screen would have been placed in the social area of this exhibition.

Campsite Middelland is an outdoor Art event in the green lungs of the city of Rotterdam. A place where you can follow the one path whilst seeing a multitude of different perspectives. Away from the city noise, the fast pace of life. Here you can find a place for your mind.

The artists at Campsite Middelland are here to start conversations, the kind we feel we miss in the fundamentals of our daily lives. The interaction and connection we so frequently lose to the social norms of today. We will create a space for everyone to feel at home and to have a chat!
